One of Cheltenham’s most famous houses, featured recently on Channel 4’s hit property programme Grand Designs has picked a winner in their Spot the Frisbee competition, Dubbed the ‘Underground House’ by Grand Designs because of its eco-friendly design the subterranean property is a meticulously constructed, modern townhouse in the heart of Cheltenham, one of the UK’s most picturesque and iconic Georgian spa towns.
Christine Evelen, 38 years old from London was contacted yesterday to tell her the fantastic news. Christine is so excited and believes the win of at least £80,000 will change her and her family’s life.
Tim and Zoe Bawtree although disappointed that the ticket target was not reached, are over the moon for Christine and her family. They are also very happy to announce that £14,500 has been raised for Teenage Cancer Trust.

They are now making plans for the house to go on the open market. “Looking on the positive side many people have benefited from the competition and the house has recently been Highly commended by the Civic Society.” Although Tim and Zoe are back to square one with both houses, the market has drastically changed since last September with interest rates at just 0.5%. They plan to re-mortgage the Regency House on a buy to let to help pay back their Development Loan whilst the underground house goes on the market. They have chosen Peter Ball and Co as their agents based in Cheltenham Spa.
